JAMES E. MOLITERNO (23 – 24 November 2017)

James E. Moliterno is the Vincent Bradford Professor of Law
at Washington & Lee University School of Law. His teaching and
scholarship focus on lawyer and judicial ethics and conduct.
For 21 years prior to joining the W&L faculty in 2009, he was
the Tazewell Taylor Professor of Law, Director of the Legal Skills Program,
and Director of Clinical Programs, and from 1997-2000
Vice Dean at the College of William & Mary. He was the 2012 recipient
of the Rebuilding Justice Award from the Institute for the Advancement
of the American Legal System (IAALS) in recognition of his career-long
legal education reform work and the 2017 recipient of the Virginia State Bar
Leadership in Education Award.

He is author or co-author of ten books including THE AMERICAN LEGAL PROFESSION IN CRISIS: RESISTANCE AND RESPONSES TO CHANGE (Oxford Univ. Press 2013) and of numerous articles on legal ethics and legal education.

He has engaged in substantial international legal ethics and legal education teaching and reform work in Serbia, Armenia, Georgia, Czech Republic, Kosovo, Slovakia, Spain, Ukraine, Japan, China, Indonesia and Thailand.
