Poznan University of Medical Sciences

His scientific career began in the second year of studies when he was employed in a technical position at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (Poznan University of Medical Sciences, Poland, PUMS). Initially, he carried out research on mutations and polymorphisms in the woman polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). After graduation, he continued working at this Department and he began exploring issues related to disorders of male fertility, which became the basis of his doctoral dissertation titled, ‘Searching for molecular mechanisms of human male infertility’. His main field of research includes reproductive biology, developmental biology, tissue engineering, as well as reconstructive and regenerative medicine.
After his PhD dissertation defence, he tooks the position of the Head of the Laboratory for Cell and Tissue Culture at the Department of Histology and Embryology, PUMS and he became the leader of the group of 12, including doctoral students and doctors. Since 2012 He has been working as the associate professor at the Department of Histology and Embryology and the Department of Anatomy (PUMS). In the same year at the Department of Anatomy he created a Laboratory for Cells and Tissues Engineering, in which his team works on creating basic models for synthetic experimental biology. His scientific vision for the coming years is to create the Bank of Cells and Tissues, used as grafts in advanced reconstructive and regenerative medicine, especially including endodontic and cardiovascular microsurgery.
