My speciality is vascular function. Cardio Ankle Vascular Index(CAVI) was invented in Japan. Now many study papers were reported in the world. My session starts with CAVI as “The Clinical utility of CAVI, and the meaning of acute changes of CAVI”. The most important thing is that CAVI expresses arterial stiffness as a numerical value. CAVI means not only the surrogate marker of arteriosclerosis as organic stiffness but also as the functional stiffness. In the western countries, Prof. Dobsak is a pioneer in this fields.
